You Carry Light - Don't Let the Pitcher Win, Break It and Release the Glory Within
Discover God's Blueprint for Breaking Barriers and Releasing the Light Within You

One of the most intriguing stories in Scripture is how Gideon defeated the vast armies of the Midianites and Amalekites with just 300 men. It was a battle where you'd expect all hands on deck—yet God reduced an army of 32,000 to only 300.
Even more fascinating was the strategy used to win the battle.
"Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers" Judges 7:16.
Who goes into battle with trumpets, empty pitchers, and torches inside those pitchers? Gideon never mentioned swords, spears, or arrows—only trumpets, pitchers, and light. Their instructions were clear: blow the trumpets and break the pitchers when they reached the enemy’s camp and release the light within them. The result was tremendous:
“When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled…” (Judges 7:22).
Of course, they eventually used their swords, but the battle didn’t begin with the sword—it began with the blowing of trumpets, the breaking of pitchers, and the release of the light from the torches.
There's Treasure in Your Vessel
Just like those pitchers, there’s treasure inside you. There is light hidden within your earthen vessel (2 Corinthians 4:7). You carry something valuable, something powerful, something impactful.
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house." Matthew 5:14-15
Jesus makes it plain: Your light is not meant to be covered. You’re not meant to be hidden. You’re designed to shine. Isaiah tells us that darkness covers the earth, but God's light within us is the solution (Isaiah 60:1-2). That light could manifest in various ways:
A unique skill or gift – like singing, writing, or teaching
A business idea that can transform lives
A ministry that offers hope to the broken
An artistic or prophetic expressions
Healing or intercessory grace
Think of people like Dunsin Oyekan and Nathaniel Bassey, using music to shift atmospheres. Or David, who played the harp to drive away Saul's torment (1 Samuel 16:23). You too carry something meant to dispel darkness.
Sadly, like the torches hidden inside Gideon’s pitchers, our light is often covered. The enemy doesn’t need to quench it—just keep it from shining. But Jesus declared:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
That “let” suggests there are things trying to prevent your light from shining. It’s time to resist them.
As you read this, something inside you whispers: You are meant for more.
There’s a brilliance within you waiting to be released—but you feel held back by certain conditions and situations. That’s why I’m writing this to you. It’s time for your light to be revealed. It’s time for the world to rejoice in your radiance. Jesus is speaking directly to you: Let your light so shine!
Maybe, like Joseph, you’ve been confined in a kind of “prison”—a situation trying to hide your brilliance.
Joseph was destined to shine as the one who would save the world from famine, but he was locked up in an Egyptian dungeon. That prison was like a bushel trying to cover his light. But the Bible says:
"Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him." — Psalm 105:19
Eventually, his word came, and God broke the pitcher so that Joseph’s light could shine.
What Could Be Covering Your Light?
Ask yourself: What is the pitcher covering your light?
Wrong mindsets or paradigms that contradict God’s plan for you?
Limiting beliefs shaped by your background or environment?
Ungodly habits or addictions that stifle your spiritual growth?
Recurrent health issues that sap your strength and focus?
Toxic relationships or affiliations that pull you away from purpose?
Break the Pitcher Yourself!
In Judges 7, Gideon and his men held torches in clay pitchers. The torches didn’t shine until the pitchers were broken—and the men did the breaking.
You might be waiting for God to miraculously remove every hindrance, but some pitchers require your actions—they won’t break unless you break them.
Let go of limiting friendships
Disengage from draining environments
Say no to that habit that keeps dimming your light
Open up to healing—emotionally, mentally, and physically
Embrace new patterns of thought rooted in God’s Word
Let Your Light Shine!
Speak to those hindrances today. Address that mindset, habit, relationship, or condition trying to hold you down. Let the Word of God break through and release you into divine purpose.
Let this this day be your turning point.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1
There’s light within you.
It’s time for that light to be released. It’s time your world rejoices in your radiance. Let your finances, your health, your family life align with your light. Let the limitations give way. Let your light shine!
May this month mark the beginning of a new dawn for you. May your light shine brightly—unhindered, unshaken, undeniable. The world is waiting. Heaven is cheering. And God is declaring over you: “Let there be light!”
Believe God's Word—it works!
Amazingly amazing 🤩.
