Give Up Other Options and Bring It To Him
When You’ve Tried Everything Else, Jesus Is Still the Answer
In the early 1900s, a young preacher named Smith Wigglesworth was invited to pray for a dying boy in Bradford, England. The child had been bedridden for days, and doctors had given up hope. His parents, desperate for help, reached out to this humble plumber-turned-preacher known for his simple but audacious faith in Jesus.
Wigglesworth didn’t come with fanfare. He didn’t even pray long. He simply walked into the room, looked at the boy, and declared, “In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk.” To the amazement of everyone, the child stood up; healed, whole, and hungry!
That moment wasn’t about Wigglesworth’s skill or spiritual status. It was about one thing: he brought the case to Jesus.
There’s a story in Mark 9 that reminds me of this. A father brought his demon-tormented son to Jesus’ disciples, hoping they could help. They tried everything they knew but they failed. They were frustrated. Time was wasted. They were humiliated.
This father had pinned his hopes on them because they were connected to Jesus.
But connection without communion is powerless. Proximity to power doesn’t guarantee access to it.
Then Jesus arrived and with calm authority, He said: “Bring him to Me.” (Mark 9:19). And that changed everything. The boy was delivered. The father was relieved. The home was restored.
Maybe you’ve been in the father’s shoes; exhausted, disappointed, and running out of options. Maybe you’ve taken the matter to everyone else, everywhere else, except the one place where it truly matters.
I believe the Lord is whispering to your heart today: “Bring him to Me.”
Bring that situation.
Bring that child.
Bring that pain.
Bring that habit.
Bring that burden.
Yes, it may have troubled you for years.
Yes, others may have tried and failed.
Yes, even you may be giving up hope.
But bring it again, this time to Jesus.
Sometimes, we think we have brought it to Him.
But if we’re honest, all we’ve really done is talk about it to people, not to God.
We’ve turned it over in our minds a thousand times.
We’ve worried, cried, and rehearsed the pain.
But we haven’t truly handed it over to Jesus.
That father in Mark 9 thought he was already in the right place; he brought his son to Jesus’ followers. But it wasn’t until Jesus said, “Bring him to Me,” that deliverance began.
Bringing it to Him means surrendering your own wisdom and ways. It means deliberately choosing to trust Him instead of yourself. It means carving out intentional time, not just to worry, but to truly pray, wait, and believe.
We often exhaust ourselves telling people about our problems, googling answers, consulting ChatGPT or seeking sympathy, all while neglecting the only One who is both willing and able to help.
It’s time to go back to the place of true power.
It’s time to bring it to Him.
He’s not just one of the options. He is the perfect option.
He’s not asking for the issue to test if He can handle it.
He already can. And He will.
He has never failed.
He never will.
He was the first Person you should have gone to, and He’ll be the last you’ll ever need.
Remember the woman with the issue of blood?
She suffered for twelve years until she came to Him.
Remember blind Bartimaeus?
He sat by the roadside begging until he cried out to Him.
So today, hear the Lord’s call again: Bring it to Him.
Bring him to Him.
Bring her.
Bring the shame.
Bring the fear.
Bring the failure.
And while He works on the matter, He’ll work on you too because He not only fixes the problem, He restores the person.

Of course! I have leaned on my counselor, my husband - I forgot to lean on God and give my pain to Him. You reminded me if something I never should have forgotten. Thank you! 💕🙏🏻
Hmmm......... Instead of worrying or crying over that situation and I can always take it directly to Him as He is ever willing to help me.
Thank you for sharing.
