3 Ways God Helps You Deal With Your Mountains
God may not move the mountain and He may not cut through the mountain. He may just strengthen you to fly or climb above it. The most important thing is that you get to the other side.
Mountains have several symbolisms in the Scriptures. They could be seen as a place where God is closer and people meet with God. Mountains can also signify strength and stability. But the symbolic use of mountains is wider than these.
Mountains often connote challenges or difficulties. When you have a situation you find too difficult to deal with, then you have a mountain before you. Mountains are those things standing on your way to the next level, the next place or the other side of life.
Perhaps, you are currently dealing with a mountain or mountains, below are three ways God helps you to deal with your mountain;
You Can Move The Mountain.
This is often the way we prefer our mountains to be dealt with; speak and move the mountain away by faith. We like it when we pray and use the command of faith to deal decisively with a situation.
Mark 11:23 confirms that you can deal with your mountain this way. It says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
There are several cases in the Bible where the prophets, Jesus Christ and the apostles used the command of faith and the situation was resolved. For example, bringing Lazarus back to life after spending three days in the tomb was a mountain. It was an impossible situation. But through the command of faith, Jesus brought this man back to life. Friend, “...if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20NKJV). But this is not the only way to deal with your mountains.
You Can Cut Through The Mountain.
There is a portion of the Ibadan-Ilorin express road construction work that seems to be delaying the completion of the work. The construction company is trying to clear off this mass of rock so that the road can be constructed. Each time I read Isaiah 40:3-4, it is the image of such construction work that comes to my mind.
It says, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth" NKJV.
Take note of the part that says, every mountain and hill brought low;... In other words, God can mobilise a bulldozer to the site and help you bring your mountain and hills down gradually.
A classical biblical example is the case of the Wall of Jericho. God didn’t move the wall of Jericho away as soon as the Israelites got there. Instead, God instructed them to walk around the wall once a day for six days and seven times on the seventh day. The instruction must have been very boring and tiring to carry out but they obeyed nonetheless. I believe that with every round completed, God was cutting through the intimidating wall. Something was happening behind the scenes even though they couldn’t see it. On the seventh day, the wall fell flat (Joshua 6:20 NKJV). Meanwhile, there is another way God helps you deal with your mountain.
You Can Climb Over The Mountain.
God may not move the mountain and He may not cut through the mountain. He may just strengthen you to fly or climb above it. The most important thing is that you get to the other side.
Isaiah 40:30-31 says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
God can give you wings so that you are able to fly about the mountain even though is not removed. Two examples come to mind about this;
Rebecca. She had issues with her pregnancy. The babies were fighting in her womb. The pain made her go to God and pray. She must have thought God would remove the pain. Instead, God gave her information that strengthened her throughout the pregnancy period
Paul. He had a thorn in his flesh given to him by a messenger of Satan. He prayed and pleaded with the Lord “that it might depart from me” but God didn’t remove the mountain. It persisted. But God supplied the grace required to bear it (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
Perhaps, you have been praying and trusting God to move a mountain in your life, it could be that God is quietly cutting through the mountain. Be patient and see what God will do. And if He is not currently cut through it, then He will make provision for you to fly above it.
